The End to a Great First Week!

It was fun doing logic puzzles. -Aaron

This week we let the rats out twice!  -Sasha

Today was good. We did logic puzzles. - James

From Ms. Young:
Well, as you can tell, logic puzzles were a big hit! These paper-and-pencil problems teach students how to use a few clues and a grid to logically figure out a complex problem. The kids picked up on them so quickly! And what a great first week we had in 3Y! We wrote our class behavior contract after answering questions such as "how do I want to be treated by my classmates and Ms. Young", we discussed the characteristics of a good classroom learner (someone who is open-minded, a thinker, reflective, caring, and principled) and read some great picture books with characters who displayed each of those traits. We also perfected our classroom procedures, designed our own book marks, and would you believe that 3Y kids have already added 8 books to our list of completed novels? Not bad for our first 5 days together!
